Appreciation, prize distribution, enthusiasm, and resilience are the words that could narrate the 5th annual function of Sunrise Public School. The function was conducted at Red Cherry hall, Rashid Ali Gate, Loni on February 23rd, 2024.

The chief of the function was Aziz Akhtar, Former Principal, Gems School, Dubai and was attended by 500 people. The function flagged off with a melodious Nasheed “Allah-hu- Allah-hu-Allah…” by student Husnain. Following this, our chief guest Aaziz Akhtar was honored with a bouquet of flowers by our student Khushi. Khushi lost her father in the Delhi riots of 2020. After this tragedy, she was enrolled in our relief school, where she has since become an integral part of the community. Her journey with us has been one of resilience and strength, and she continues to inspire those around her.

The event continued with a shawl garland ceremony, where our chief guest was honored by Aasif Mujtaba, Founder and Director of Miles2Smile. Thereafter, the stage was set for a captivating Sufi dance performance. The dancers, dressed in white attire with red caps and glittering pom-poms, mesmerized the audience with their grace and energy.

The charming nursery students also participated in the event, leaving the audience in sheer admiration. Dressed in colorful frocks with their infectious smiles, they captured the attention of everyone in the hall. The song “Clap Your Hands” further enhanced their cuteness, making the moment even more delightful.
The performance of “Suno Bacho Uthao Basta…” was yet another remarkable display that captivated the audience, leaving them spellbound. The students, dressed in green outfits with red pom-poms, exuded a vibrant energy that quickly won over the hearts of everyone in the hall.

With the growing influence of social media, our students delivered a powerful performance that showcased how these platforms can be used positively. The skit portrayed a family scenario in which a mother’s addiction to social media led her to neglect child’s needs, resulting in a troubling future for the child. The poignant message conveyed by the skit resonated deeply with the audience.

“Bam Bam Bole Masti Mein Tu Dol Re…” was yet another lively dance performance that had the audience tapping their feet to the rhythm. The energetic students executed their moves flawlessly, leaving a lasting impression on the minds and hearts of everyone present.

The students of Sunrise Public School are truly all-rounders, excelling not only in extracurricular activities but also in academics. To celebrate their outstanding academic achievements, a ceremony was held where trophies were awarded to students who demonstrated exemplary performance in their studies.

After a short interval, the 7th-grade students delivered a compelling dance performance centered around the theme of women empowerment. It was an impactful display, with Khushi, who tragically lost her father in the Delhi pogrom, leading the performance. Sunrise Public School has truly empowered her, allowing her to shine on stage with strength and resilience.

The highlight of the event was the play on the Delhi riots, depicting the struggles and loss of the people during the communal violence that unfolded in the northeast in 2020. Zubair, one of the survivors of the violence acted as the protagonist and built an emotional narrative. The theme of the play was to demonstrate the struggles of the survivors in the aftermath of the violence.

Yet another powerful performance was delivered by Sadiq, a communal violence survivor. Sadiq’s mother was ganged raped during Muzaffar nagar riots and fought the long battle of 10 years for justice. Seeing Sadiq performing confidently left the audience speechless. Sadiq has gained exemplary confidence.
Moving towards the ending of the function, Mr. Aasif Mujtaba, facilitated the chief guest, teachers and the staff of Sunrise Public School, to show his love and respect for them.
