The courtyard of Aamir’s house echoed with laughter as the children lift up their school bags, carrying happiness of a better future, leaving behind the weight of the sadness the house was compelled to face a few months back as the sole breadwinner of the family, Aamir was lynched.
On the night of March 2, he was driving his pickup truck when his vehicle was intercepted near the Bhiwadi area of Rajasthan. As per the reports, a group of self-styled cow vigilantes rammed their vehicle into his truck, forcing it to stop.
What followed happened in moments. Before Aamir could even grasp what was unfolding, he was attacked and shot in the head. The violence was sudden and merciless, claiming his life within mere hours. On getting cognizance of the heinous crime, Miles2Smile travelled to Palla Village, Haryana, and met Aamir’s grief-engulfed families.
However, what punctured our hearts significantly was the eroded education of Aamir’s siblings. With the death of Aamir, the financial stability of the house was also buried, and the first thing to be sacrificed was the education of children. Aamir embraced the education of his siblings and nephews sincerely, but now they were without support.
Miles2Smile observed the need of the hour and enrolled Aamir’s siblings and nephews in a reputed school of the village—HS Palla Nuh.
The move not only garnered happiness from Aamir’s siblings and nephews but also hopes for a better future. Meantime, the family demonstrated a worrisome thought– The new school would require books, notebooks, uniforms, and bags—where to arrange them all?
