Miles2Smile successfully conducted a free medical camp in Ghatmika, Rajasthan, on 8th February, 2025. The camp focused on screening, treating, and giving medical advice to the residents of Ghatmika. An array of medical services was offered to more than 200 residents of the village under the supervision of Dr. Salma and two medical professionals.

Miles2Smile through medical camps aims to enhance the overall well-being of the society. The organization believes that everyone deserves a comprehensive medical facility.

The camp started with the speech of Aasif Mujtaba, Founder & Director, Miles2Smile. Highlighting the importance of health care, Mujtaba said, “Our goal is not only to provide medical check-ups and treatments, but also to raise awareness about the importance of health and wellness. We want to empower each of you to take control of your health and lead a life of well-being.”
“Our aim has always been to improve the quality of life for those in need and support, irrespective of their background and want. Today, as I stand in front of you all, I feel honored to bring medical assistance and health awareness to the local populace of Ghatmika,” Mujtaba added.

Following this, Dr. Salma emphasized how, as a society, we have to erase both spiritual and bodily diseases. “Today, I have not come to you as a doctor. I stand before you as a human being… Just as a wound on the body worsens if left untreated, the wounds in our society must also be healed by us—otherwise, they will only grow deeper,” she said.
After a while, a large queue of patients was made in front of the camp with children, men, and women eagerly waiting for their turns to come.

As reported by Dr. Salma, “Almost everyone had skin allergies, women mostly complained of leucorrhea, and most of them were anemic.”
One by one, all the patients were screened and treated according to the symptoms they manifested.
“I have been facing health issues for a long time now. The camp helped me to learn about my medical condition. I am grateful that I have been treated,” said Sameena.
I’m glad that the camp was organized. My daughter Shifa has been facing a constant fever and cold for over a week. I am happy that she has received medicine now,” said Sajida.

Sajida is the widow of Junaid, who was lynched to death by cow vigilantes for the crime he never committed. Junaid was the sole breadwinner in the family of eight. Miles2Smile established a cosmetic shop for Sajida to provide the family with a dignified livelihood.
On being asked about the shop, Sajida said, “My business is doing well. I am happy that I deal with my customers. Many thanks to Miles2Smile for helping me. May Allah bless them.”
“I experience headaches during nighttime. And sometimes a chest pain.” Kurshidan told Dr. Salma.

Kurshidan is a widow of Umar who was also lynched to death by cow vigilantes. Umar’s family struggled to build a house for themselves after his death. Miles2Smile helped them build their house.
“I have a cold, and I am happy that I have received treatment. I am happy that a medical camp was set up,” said Bazgari.
“I am deeply grateful to the team of doctors, nurses, medical staff, and members of Miles2Smile who have dedicated their time and effort to make this camp a success. Their passion and commitment to improving lives are the heart of this initiative,” Aasif Mujtaba said while concluding the camp.
