Taking a crucial step toward accessible healthcare for all, Miles2Smile organized a Free Medical Camp in Loni, Ghaziabad. Held on Sunday, August 3, the health camp offered free consultations, basic diagnostic services, medicines, and health awareness sessions to over 150 underprivileged residents, including children, women, and elderly citizens.

The camp was part of Miles2Smile’s ongoing mission to address the healthcare gap in economically weaker regions, where access to professional medical help is often a distant reality. In a single day, the camp managed to provide not just medical attention but also reassurance, education, and a renewed sense of community support.
The day began early, full of enthusiasm and excitement, with volunteers setting up registration desks, health booths, and consultation spaces by 8:00 AM. Meanwhile, a sense of curiosity swept over the local residents who began arriving soon after, many carrying long-ignored ailments and unanswered questions. The medical team included medical professionals Dr. Asif, Dr. Subhan Parvej, and Sir Mohd. Danish, Project Director of Health, Miles2Smile.

“The idea is to offer more than a check-up. It’s about building confidence in people that their health matters, no matter their income or background,” said Mohd.Danish, Project Director– health, Miles2Smile.
Services Provided
The camp featured a range of medical services tailored to the local population’s needs: general physical examinations, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, pediatric assessments, and nutritional advice. The camp also incorporated a corner for the ‘Mother and Child Health Corner,’ where young mothers received antenatal advice, child nutrition guidance, and basic supplements.

Real Impact, Real Stories
What made the day most memorable was that for many attendees, this camp marked their first medical consultation in years. Health infrastructure in many parts of Loni remains inadequate, forcing residents to depend on costly private clinics or unqualified local healers.
Aamir, 58, came in complaining of continuous fatigue. He was diagnosed with nutrient deficiency and immediately given medication and lifestyle guidance. “I did not know anything like this even existed. I am glad I am being treated for free,” he said.

Children with recurring skin infections, anemia, and untreated fevers were attended to by Dr. Asif. The personal attention, explained in local dialects and with empathy, created a sense of trust and comfort.
“Camps like these always make me proud that I am part of an NGO, which selflessly works towards the betterment of the community, which is always up for help,” said Moni Khan, an employee of Miles2Smile.
Meanwhile, Waqar Yunus, a web developer, sees these camps as an opportunity for him to learn the art of empathy, selflessness, and care. “I have been a part of various camps held by Miles2Smile. I am very grateful to the organization for these camps; they help me gain empathy, care, and love,” he said.
