We’re thrilled to present our impact report from January to June 2023, highlighting the transformative work carried out in the areas of education, healthcare, relief & rehabilitation, livelihoods, skill development, and emergency relief. This report, our third of its kind publication, marks our commitment to ensuring dignified lives for those we serve.
Turkiye Relief Work (8 Feb – 31 March):
In response to the Earthquake Crisis in Turkey and Syria, Miles2Smile mobilised support swiftly. Over 1,100 donors, driven by compassion, contributed a staggering 20 lakhs in just four days. The organisation dispatched 2365 metric tonnes of essential relief items valued at Rs 21.74 lakhs to alleviate the suffering in quake-hit regions.
Relief & Rehabilitation of Communal Violence Victims in Bihar Sharif:
In the aftermath of communal violence in Bihar Sharif, Miles2Smile extended a helping hand. By providing a month’s ration amounting to Rs 83,664, the organisation offered tangible support to families in their darkest hour. This support was not limited to material aid; it extended to emotional comfort and unwavering solidarity throughout the healing process.
Empowering through Education:
Miles2Smile is committed to fostering brighter futures through education.
Shaagird: Inspired by the vision of ‘each one teach one,’ this initiative aspires to have a million mentors nurturing a brighter future for children. Sunrise Public School, established under Miles2Smile, supports over 450 disadvantaged students.
Smart India School: We’re providing free education to 30 children who are victims of communal violence in Khargone in collaboration with Smart India School.
Miles2smile is operating three portable learning centres with a focus on English language education for Rohingya refugees.

Annual Sports Day 2022-23: Sports and games play a pivotal role in the holistic development of children. They instill qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit, and leadership, while also contributing to their physical and mental growth. Our annual sports
day at Sunrise Public School, held on 14th February ‘23, was a joyous occasion filled with fun, enthusiasm, and life lessons.
The Annual Day Function: We also celebrated the Annual Day function at Sunrise Public School on Saturday, March 04, 2023. The event was a celebration of the diverse talents of the students and a testament to the power of education and mentorship in transforming lives.
The Hifz Completion Ceremony: Miles2 Smile held The Hifz completion ceremony on January 26, 2023, at Madarsa Miftahul Quran, and the progress of our project ‘Taleem’, dedicated to uplifting underprivileged Muslim children studying in madrasas. It was a momentous occasion for the students who had committed themselves to memorising the entire Quran.
Hunar: Skill Development Among the Underprivileged Youths ‘Skill Building’ & ‘Empowerment’ lies at the heart of the Miles2Smile foundation. We launched ‘Hunar Academy’ which will equip young girls and boys from economically disadvantaged sections of society with in-demand skills and provide them with the resources they need to advance in their careers.
Taharat: Unlocking the Economic Potential of Women
On 2nd March 2023, Miles2Smile also launched its Stitching Centre ‘TAHARAT’ for women victims of the 2020 Northeast Delhi Pogrom and other underprivileged women. The centre aims to offer these victims an opportunity for vocational training and skills development and to give them an option for a sustainable livelihood.
Ramadan Special Project: Miles2Smile’s Ramadan program in April 2023 extended a helping hand to Rohingya refugee communities, who have faced immense hardship in Myanmar. We provided daily Suhoor and Iftar meals to over 150 Rohingya refugee children, showcasing the power of charity and volunteering.
Miles2Smile achieved a major milestone with the launch of a powerful documentary ‘The Promise of Dignity’, on June 6, 2023. The documentary sheds light on the unheard plight of the Rohingya people.
This year, we’re also expanding with a Taharat centre in Kashmir and launching a long-term strategy for diversity, transparency, and wider accountability. We’ve learned powerful stories of resilience and change from our beneficiaries. We’re immensely grateful for your unwavering support.
