Sunrise Public School, situated in Loni Ghaziabad fostered a spirit of inclusivity, compassion and resilience, as it hosted a spirited celebration of the 7th Foundation Day of a youth led organization ‘Fraternity Movement’ on April 30.
On the occasion, the volunteers from the Fraternity Movement and Sunrise Public School staff organized fun-filled programs and engaging interactions among the students.
Lubaib Basheer (General Secretary, Fraternity Movement), Ansab Amir (National Executive Committee member), Shahid Ashfaq (President, Fraternity Movement- Delhi University) and other members of the DU unit committee volunteered for the programme.
The students, from the youngest to the eldest, participated with full enthusiasm and zeal, displaying their creative talents in public speaking, drawing, and debates.
The Fraternity Movement’s work is focused on promoting education, youth empowerment, and social change. Founded in 2014, the movement is committed to building a society that champions principles of inclusivity, equality, and justice.
The organization has received numerous awards and accolades for its work, including the prestigious United Nations Youth Award for its outstanding contribution to social change.
The commemoration of the Movement’s 7th Foundation Day at Sunrise Public School highlighted the importance of creating a society based on mutual fraternity, equality, and justice, and the role that education and youth can play in achieving that goal.
Each soul present at the school campus was jubilantly imbibed by the determination and values for promoting an inclusive democracy based on respect for differences, equality, and justice.
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of the volunteers and organizing members by the Director of Miles2Smile Foundation, Aasif Mujtaba. Speaking on the occasion, he reiterated the foundation’s vision for victims of communal violence and deprivation, while also promoting a message of social harmony and fraternity.
The audience was moved by the Director’s words, and the appreciation was reflected in the thunderous applause by the students and participating members.
The day came to a close with the photography session and the hoisting of the ‘Fraternity Flag’ by the Movement. Standing together, all the members and students took a vow to promote fraternity in every aspect of life and society, recognizing their responsibility towards their community and committing themselves to working towards a more equitable and just society.
