In a moment of happiness, pride, and a promise of a bright future, Hunar Academy of Miles2Smile celebrated the successful completion of its Basic Computer Course, honoring a new cohort of learners who have taken a confident step towards the digital world.
The certificate distribution ceremony, held in the premises of Hunar Academy, was filled with motivation, inspiration, and a sense of achievement. Attended by Aasif Mujtaba, Founder & Director, Miles2Smile, 35 students who successfully completed the course, teachers, and coordinators, the event marked a new journey for those for whom the world of digital literacy seemed far-fetched. To make this course available for the masses, the course was free from any cost for more than half of the cohort.
Through initiatives like these, Miles2Smile, under its initiative Huanar, aims to build a world where digital literacy is a dream accomplished by all alongside creating a world where downtrodden students too have the power of education. These students, quite often, due to financial constraints of their family, fail to bridge the gap between the skills and a bright future. Miles2Smile, under its initiative Huanar, aims to bridge this gap with happiness and dignity. The recent event was yet another step towards Miles2Smile’s aforementioned aims.
The event started with the motivational speech of Aasif Mujtaba, Founder & Director, Miles2Smile. Recalling the idea behind the “There is a significant gap between children’s education and their employment opportunities. To help bridge this gap, we established Hunar Academy,” Mujtaba said.
To motivate the students to pursue their careers, he said, “There are places where there is no internet, no electricity, not even proper roads—yet the children there are studying engineering and medicine in some of the finest institutions.”
“We all come from middle-class families, but our dreams should never be middle-class. Our dreams should be big,” Mujtaba said.
“If one plans wisely and stands with courage, even a single person can support and uplift their entire family with dignity,” he added.
Mujtaba’s words resonated with the dreams of students, setting an aroma of motivation and determination.
Continuing his speech, Mujtaba said, “If you make up your mind that your circumstances must change—and that you will be the one to change them—and you stay determined, then no one can stop you.”
“Change begins with our mindset. If you have even one skill, you will never sit idle. We must be willing to work hard,” he added.
The event continued with a facilitation ceremony for students who successfully completed the course with full sincerity and determination.
One by one each student was called upon the stage and honored with a certificate. A wave of happiness swept over students as they received the certificate and warmth from their teacher, their guiding light.
Fatima Bano, one of the students from the cohort, with a smile of pride, said, “Teachers at Hunar Academy are very dedicated, determined, and hard-working. They will concentration and honesty help students to tackle their problems and achieve their dreams.”
“I am blessed to be part of Hunar Academy,” she added.
“It was an honor to be part of this event and to witness such a great success of students who, with full determination and dedication, learned the necessary skills,” said center coordinator Abdul Jabbar.
“I am happy that I volunteered in this event. The success of the students gave a sense of motivation and inspiration. It was a day worth cherishing,” said Atyab Ahmed, a volunteer for the event.
As the ceremony concluded, there was a shared sentiment in the room—the future belongs to those who learn, and today’s learners are ready to lead their tomorrow.
