At Miles2Smile’s Sunrise Public School, the learning and growth of our students remain our top priority. Staying true to this vision, the school collaborated with EPOCH, the Literary and Cultural Society of Jamia Hamdard, to provide students with opportunities for practical exposure, creative learning, and personal development.

We firmly believe that education should not be confined to books and classrooms. Knowledge beyond textbooks, creativity beyond notebooks, and experiences that instill confidence are what truly shape young minds. With this in mind, on 20 August 2025, a team of nearly 50 young enthusiasts from EPOCH, led by Mr. Aasif, visited Sunrise Public School to engage with our students.

A Day of Excitement and Curiosity
The atmosphere was filled with anticipation from the very beginning. Students were eager and curious, discussing with one another, “Who are they? Are they here to meet us? Maybe play with us?” as the EPOCH team stepped onto the school grounds.
The day officially began with Islamuddin, HR Executive of Miles2Smile Foundation, introducing the EPOCH members to the students. “EPOCH is a society of young people who care about each one of you. They are here as your friends, to spend time with you, and to understand you,” he said.
The moment students heard this, their faces lit up with joy. For them, knowing that someone cared was the greatest gift of the day.The interaction session featured engaging activities designed to boost the confidence of students. The highlight was a Hindi-to-English translation exercise, where sentences prepared by EPOCH were given to students to translate and read aloud

“It was so satisfying to see the students blooming with confidence and excitement to answer in public. I am beyond happy to see my students so enthusiastic,” said Ms. Farah Naaz, an English teacher at Sunrise Public School.
For Ms. Gulnaaz, another teacher, the activity proved to be an inspiration for new teaching methods: “This activity has opened new possibilities for us. We are planning to incorporate similar exercises into our regular classroom teaching.”

“It was truly a joy to capture the happiness of the students today. I visit Sunrise Public School quite often, and students here are mostly happy, but today the atmosphere felt different, filled with excitement, warmth, and an energy that words can hardly describe. Watching the children so genuinely happy was not only heartwarming but also deeply fulfilling for me personally.” says Md Imamuddin, photographer and design coordinator, Miles2Smile
A Box of Happiness
The day concluded with a thoughtful gesture by EPOCH, students were surprised with refreshments and stationery kits. The simple gift touched many hearts. “I will keep these stationery items safe because this is the first time someone outside my family or school has gifted me stationery,” said Shifa, a student.
Sometimes, small acts of kindness leave the deepest impressions. Collaborations like these remind us that education is not just about learning, it’s also about compassion, care, and building a community where everyone grows together.
