Miles2Smile is proud to present Khattati – an initiative to train people in Urdu calligraphy and provide them with the opportunity to learn calligraphy themselves and promote Urdu and Arabic languages.
This program is also intended to give our communities access to a creative and abundant means of livelihood”, said Founder and CEO of Miles2Smile.
The Khattati program was officially launched on December 2nd, 2022. On this day, a stall of calligraphy artworks was set up in the Rekhta Bazar. Since calligraphy is an international art, the stall was widely applauded by its visitors.
2022 Rekhta festival was an unforgettable week of new calligraphic experiences for our team. It is an annual Urdu festival that takes place over three days in December.
It is also a place to meet like-minded people and make new friends. And, it is FUN!

Being at Rekhta brings you an innate pleasure as you spend your three days immersed in this world of wonderful artists, some with lifelong knowledge, others coming for the first time but able to dive in and soak it all up in a great atmosphere.
Calligraphy, as a form of art and self-expression should be appreciated and celebrated especially in a country like ours. The initiative ‘Khattati’ was conceptualized with the aim to promote applied arts and calligraphy through training and workshops and to generate awareness and appreciation among the wider public.
Miles2Smile is delighted to announce its calligraphy training course under the initiative ‘Khattati’. Our classes and workshops will be held in a comfortable and hospitable environment, allowing each participant to improve their skills.

We will also provide all the necessary tools and materials to our students to create their own unique artworks. Mr. Waseem Khan, a retired ‘chief-Khattat’ from the Delhi Urdu Academy, with two other lettering artists will be on hand to teach you how to manipulate the pen to give stunning effects to your artwork.
So whether you’re a seasoned artist or complete beginner, join the initiative Khattati and learn an array of new skills that you’ll be able to use in your art. We hope to launch the schedule of our training workshops and classes soon.
We look forward to seeing you!
